So let me just see if I'm getting this correct.ĭoes this seem correct? You gain 25 per second for 2 seconds (which is also how long the 5 per second loss doesn't happen), not 25 flat immediately. Originally posted by iateyourcake:(explanation of Trinity)OK so this seems to make much more sense. Whatever element has the lowest resonance at any moment will give bonus damage and penetration on a hit with it. So by continuing to hit with different elements, you will start generating resonance on all three elements. Afterwards, 5 resonance will deplete per second until you gain resonance again on that element. You cannot go above 50 resonance on an element. The resonance will add another 25 after another second for a maximum total of 50. For example, hit with fire, you get 25 resonance each on both ice and lightning. Whatever element hits, you will gain 25 resonance on the other two elements. So the hit will be either fire, ice, or lightning. So main attack like Elemental Hit is supported with Trinity.Įverytime you hit, the damage will randomly be one of the three elements. So let me just see if I'm getting this correct. OK so this seems to make much more sense. the easiest to see the effect is using elemental hit.Īfter 25 resonance you get pen, and you do more dmg per 5 of the lowest resonance, so if you hit with lightning, you get 25 for cold and fire, lighnting loses 5 resonance per second and you get more dmg with lightning because it has right now the lowest resonance. pure physical will do nothing for trinity. you want to do dmg with all of them, yes in one skill. Originally posted by iateyourcake:three elements, fire - lightning - cold. So one hit with lightning gives you 25 resonance for cold and fire per second for 2 seconds duration and you are losing 5 resonance per second for each element you are currently not gaining, that would be lightning in this example.Īfter 25 resonance you get pen, and you do more dmg per 5 of the lowest resonance, so if you hit with lightning, you get 25 for cold and fire, lighnting loses 5 resonance per second and you get more dmg with lightning because it has right now the lowest resonance. for each hit you get 25 resonance for the other two. the easiest to see the effect is using elemental hit.Įverytime the dmg is rolled one of these will be the highest and be applied, if you hit with lightning you get resonance for cold and fire, if you hit with cold you get resonance for ligthning and fire, if you hit with fire you get resonance for cold and ligthning. So it's really not meant as a support for a single element like Fireball? It really mainly works with spells that hit with multiple elements? OK you mentioned hits that use all three elements. So I get a resonance buff for additional hits? I cast Fireball It deals elemental damage. What about if the main attack is just an element? Let's say Lightning Strike which is an attack. Like if I add a support gem that does that? Or you mean that the support only applies for elemental attacks Not sure what you mean by converting 50% of my damage to lightning. But still a bit confused about resonance bonus. And even Inspiration that is generated from a specific gem. I wasn't understanding the term "Resonance" or what gives it. Trinity is best used on builds/skills utilizing all three elements (like Elemental Hit, Wild Strike) because than the ramp-up for all three Resonance is the fastest and gives you the highest possible damage-bonus+penetration. If you for example convert 50% of your physical damage from Frenzy to Lightning, Trinity would build up Resonance and give you the Bonus, the gem description tells you (Supported Skills deal (3-5)% more Elemental Damage per 5 of lowest Resonance). Trinity Support basically ramps up a buff (Resonance) IF you deal elemental damage. Originally posted by cool skill: it will add to different elemental damage to my Frenzy?
